Bandung (7/9) – ITB Student Choir won multiple awards in the international choir competition, 7th Satya Dharma Gita Choir Festival 2019 in Radjawali Semarang Cultural Center, Semarang-Indonesia, which was held on 27th – 31th August 2019.

This Choir Festival was held by Satya Dharma Gita Choir from the Faculty of Law of Diponegoro University. This activity was participated by 45 choirs from various regions in Indonesia. This competition was also attended by 15 world-class juries. ITB Student Choir participated in 2 categories in the 7th Satya Dharma Gita Choir Festival 2019 – Mixed Choir and Music of Religions. ITB Student Choir also took part in the Grand Champion, which was attended by 9 choirs.

In the Mixed Choir category, ITB Student Choir brought 3 songs – ‘Les Djinns’ by G. Faure, a compulsory song ‘Hening’ by Agastya Rama Listya, and ‘O Sapientia’ by Tadeja Vulc. In the Music of Religions category, ITB Student Choir brought another 3 songs – ‘I Will Lift Mine Eyes’ by Jake Runestad, ‘Gayatri’ by Bagus Utomo, and ‘He’s Got The Whole World,’ arranged by Ray Leibau. For the Grand Champion category, ITB Student Choir performed ‘Les Djinns’ by G. Faure and ‘Baba Yetu,’ arranged by Andre van der Merwe.

These are the achievements which were obtained in the 7th Satya Dharma Gita Choir Festival 2019:
1.Champion of Mixed Category.
2.1st runner up of Music of Religions Category
3.2nd runner up of Grand Champion
4.Best Intepretation of Compulsary Work
5.Best Program

Once again, by winning this competition ITB Student Choir has proven their consistency in maintaining their musicality. This competition is not the end of their journey. ITB Student Choir will thrive to be better and better.
